Skilled Workers and Professionals
Our immigration services are comprehensive and are provided by a team combined of professional immigration consultants who are members of C.S.I.C. - Canadian Society of Immigration Consultants, C.A.P.I.C. - Canadian Association of Professional Immigration Consultants and C.M.I. - Canadian Migration Institute, as well as immigration lawyers who are members of the Canadian Bar Association.
Federal - Skilled Worker
The Federal Skilled Worker Category allow applicants who qualify and succeed in securing an immigrant visa to immigrate, live and work in any part of Canada except for the Province of Quebec, which has its own immigration system. Of course, the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms allows mobility within Canada, which allows an immigrant, once in Canada to move freely from province to province, without hindrance. The FSW is a point based system where points are assigned for the applicant's capabilities and background. In order to qualify one must also pass the IELTS English test with a score of 7.5 in Listening and 6.5 in each of Reading, Writing and Speaking in the "General" test.
QUALIFYING
To qualify for the Skilled Worker Category an applicant is assessed according to several criteria based on the requirements of the Immigration & Refugee Protection Act of Canada, 2002, which along with the Immigration Regulations, defines each criteria and how it must be applied when assessing an applicant. The following are some of the factors assessed as part of the Selection Factor Grid used by Citizenship & Immigration Canada:
The current pass mark one must achieve to qualify is 67 (Subject to change at any time)
To see if you qualify, you must submit your information online to us or meet with us in person, so that we can evaluate your chances of success based on our expertise and the chances of us making your application successful. We provide a candid overview of your case at the outset. Our Consultants, who are members of the Canadian Society of Immigration Consultants, will handle this process as well as the submission of your application, file reviews, interview preparation and work endlessly to make your application a success.
RETAINING & SUBMISSION
Once we have accepted your case and provided you with a clear understanding of your chances of success, you must retain our firm to represent you with your immigration application. This is done by signing a Retainer Agreement with Can-Quest in which our commitment to you and yours to us is clearly defined. Fees payable are mentioned and a refund of fee clause is also included for your protection. All this is done as per the guidelines of C.S.I.C., who defines our business practices.
Once you have retained our firm, we assign you a Client Relations Officer who will start the document gathering process, which you arrange as per our expert guidelines and advice. You will also complete the application forms with our CRO, who will guide you every step of the way. Once your documents and application forms are ready, we collect the application fee and submit your application to the Government of Canada - Citizenship & Immigration department, for processing.
PROCESSING AT THE VISA POST
Once your file is received at a application processing office, you are issued with a unique file number which is used to identify your file and the processing begins. It can take approximately 1 year to process a Skilled Worker application depending on the visa post handling your application. We make sure that the file is always up to date, we follow up with you and the visa post to see that this happens, we advise you as soon as a new update becomes available and prepare you for your interview or should you be one of our many clients who have received a waiver of interview, we work with you to conclude your application at the earliest.
Remember! An application for permanent residence is not just a matter of filling forms. If it were that simple, there would be no need for highly trained consultants, lawyers and long processing. Each application is assessed as per the guidelines of the Immigration Act, its regulations and operations manuals and must conform exactly to become successful. Visa officers have total discretion within the boundaries of the Immigration Act to decide on the outcome of each application and therefore, a complete application with all relevant information and documents prepared carefully is without a doubt the difference between success and failure. Various parts of the process which must be carefully handled include, the application, supporting documents, background checks, medical examinations, language testing and so on.
Can-Quest has an excellent track record with a high success rate and we pride ourselves on doing the job right, the first time.
